What is Hazy Bay?

Why Us?

We’re everyone’s favorite recording studio and post-production outfit. Hazy Bay is where technical precision, creativity, and good people meet under one roof in Seattle’s South Park neighborhood (and wherever there’s Internet).

The best audio people (and people, in general) are good listeners. And that includes the sounds coming out of your mouth when you tell us what you’re looking for.

With collective decades of experience as audio engineers and working musicians, we don’t just “get” sound. We get what you need from us.

Maybe you want lo-fi scuzz or crystal-clear, folksy warmth for your band’s record. Maybe you’re swinging for the fences and need an award-worthy audio mix for your award-worthy film. Maybe you need custom video game or podcast music, whether that’s for goblin slaying or investigative journalism.

Post-production audio, film scoring, licensing, editing, ads, special FX—our list of services and expertise goes on. Whatever sound you’re looking for, it’s right here.

Meet the Team

  • Aaron Spieldenner

Creative Director / Chief Pro Tools Nerd

Very palatable as far as humans go, Aaron is your spiritual guide into the realm of audio bliss. I.e., he’ll handle all the nerdy-dirty details. He has been called many things over the years—musician, songwriter, editor, sound designer, engineer, producer, friend. But no one has ever called him a good nickname. (Submissions welcome).

  • Sean Dwyer

Head of Audio Services / Lead Sound Tweaker

A seasoned expert of knobs, levels, and finding balance, Sean is Hazy Bay’s central nervous system. Since he was 12, many a band, film, and podcast has benefited from either his playing or his technical prowess or both. Some people like piña coladas, but Sean likes scoring documentaries and getting tangled in the 10,000 wires of his mixing motherboard.

  • Paul Davis

    Studio Manager / Drummer-In-Residence

Paul is the one keeping time and tempo around here, for us and you. He’s got a no-shit, college degree in percussion and has been grinding as a session musician and bandmate since he was a lad. Like Forrest Gump, he has crossed the country multiple times on tour. Unlike Forrest Gump, he has performed at Madison Square Garden.
